PUSHING THE ART OF MAKING GUITAR TO THE NEXT LEVEL
This guitar had been designed for the first edition of the HOLY GRAIL GUITAR SHOW (Berlin / 2014). We’ve built this guitar in one single piece of figured ash. Building a guitar in a single piece of wood is quite challenging but we’ve been further with a flamed maple “through-body” fingerboard. Thanks to the “one-piece” body, the custom fingerboard and the string through body bridge, the sustain and resonance are far beyond comparaison.
The Baroness is powered by a pair of Bare Knuckle Warpig 7s. The Warpig humbucker was originally conceived as an all-out extreme metal humbucker capable of seriously dark and saturated tones. However it soon found uses as diverse as jazz and fusion establishing itself as a major player in the Bare Knuckle range. The twin screw coil design produces an even and controlled treble response, working well with intense levels of gain. Bass and mid range response is monstrous and the different magnet options allow for the tone to be further refined to taste. The default Alnico V magnet creates the smoothest hi-end with a totally organic mid range grind and deep bottom-end. For players looking for even more output, the ceramic magnet option delivers faster bass reaction, smoother mids and a sharper cut in the highs.
With its retro-modern badass look, the Baroness 7s is a versatile instrument offering a wide tonal variation for everything from jazz, blues, rock to extreme metal. The Baroness possesses all the power, tone, feel, and mojo of a legendary machine.
GOOD WOOD = GOOD TONE
A lot of attention is paid to source premium quality wood for all our instruments.
The body is made in French figured ash (+60 years of drying). The piece of wood pushed us to build this guitar in one piece. We’ve used the piece of wood to create an outstanding display for the guitar.
This Ash is very hard, heavy and dense. Its density contributes to a bright tone and a long sustain. It is a very musical wood offering a very nice balance of brightness and warmth with a lot of “pop”
The fingerboard is made in maple, a very hard, heavy and dense wood. The tone is very bright with long sustain and a lot of bite.
